Atmospheric Shaders
Atmospheric Shaders is a shader pack focused on sky rendering and lighting. It is designed to work with Simple Clouds and Project Atmosphere localized weather, keeping visuals close to vanilla while improving atmosphere behavior.
Features
Sky and Lighting The sky uses smoother gradients and improved horizon blending. Light diffusion and sky color transition more gradually throughout the day cycle.
Simple Clouds Integration Clouds react dynamically to the time of day and lighting conditions. They are visually blended into the sky rather than appearing as a separate, disconnected layer.
Weather Awareness Sky brightness and color shift based on current weather and biome context. Both storms and clear weather produce distinct ambient tones.
Visual Style Colors are kept balanced. Bloom and post-processing effects are limited to ensure the image remains crisp, readable, and stable.
Day and Night Transitions Dawn and dusk transitions are smoother with more natural, organic color shifts.
Performance The effects are conservative and lightweight. The pack is intended to remain stable and usable on a wide range of computer systems.
Planned Changes
Cloud visuals will be refined further, and water and fog behavior will be improved. Sky scattering and sun coloration will be adjusted. Future updates may introduce support for weather data such as storms or humidity.
Compatibility Notice: Simple Clouds
If you are using this pack alongside Simple Clouds, please be aware that there are known incompatibilities. Before reporting that this mod is not working, please read the following:
Mods such as Alex's Caves, Immersive Engineering, Distant Horizons, and others can disrupt the fragile balance of the rendering pipeline. This often results in depth and scene composition issues.
I have been working on a fix for a long time but have not yet found a proper solution. If you are comfortable with GLSL or Java and think you might have a good idea, feel free to contribute.
