Description

Greetings! This addon is essentially a port of the original "Guardian Villagers" mod from Java Edition, specifically adapted to function within Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

While original documentation exists for reference, Bedrock Edition has certain technical limitations that affect this specific version; therefore, it is highly recommended to read this description to fully understand your gameplay experience.

I would like to extend my respects to almightytallestred. I am fully aware that I do not own the rights to the models, textures, or the concept, but my intention is simply to provide a Bedrock version for players who do not have access to a PC or who simply prefer the Bedrock Edition.

LET'S BEGIN!

NOTE: Due to file corruption, guard villagers equipped with crossbows will not spawn and do not possess spawn eggs. This has caused significant delays in updates. Please refrain from reporting this in the comments, as I am committed to fixing it entirely by the end of May.

NOTE 2: Current moderation issues and bugs on the distribution platform are hindering updates. I am working diligently to resolve these issues and will push an update as soon as possible.

The Guards

Guards are the primary entities in this addon. They typically appear in squads of 3-6 members (composed of 3 melee and 3 ranged units) and patrol villages to defend against attacks from monsters and malicious players aiming to harm the inhabitants.

Note: Due to a current bug, villages predominantly generate melee guards. I am working on a fix, so please don't be alarmed.

Guards generally spawn with spears, swords, and crossbows as their standard loadout, and they can even utilize shields and armor!

You can upgrade your guards' gear by dropping better equipment on the ground near them, such as diamond swords, shields, or netherite chestplates.

WARNING! Guards may pick up items even when you do not intend them to. This can be a very frustrating bug, so please exercise caution with your items!

"How do I recruit villagers to form my own army?"

Recruitment is a straightforward process.

To convert a villager into a melee guard, simply interact with them while holding an iron sword (right-click or tap and hold on mobile). To assign them as a ranged guard, interact with them while holding a crossbow.

Wait... did I mention the Medic?

The Medic

The Medic is a villager with alchemist/cleric characteristics. They cast regeneration potions on allies, including guards, villagers, players, and iron golems.

Can I hire guards?

Yes, you can tame or hire guards by using emeralds.
