Have you ever longed for your held torch to illuminate the way while traversing pitch-black caves? By installing this resource pack, you can utilize various items—such as flashlights, glowstone, magma, torches, and off-hand torches—to provide dynamic lighting, significantly enhancing your cave exploration experience.
Compatibility and Rules
This mod is perfectly compatible with all other functional mods and "Action and Stuff." It also supports various expansion packs that include custom animations or modified vanilla item textures. Furthermore, you don’t need to worry about disabling achievements; the mod requires no experimental gameplay toggles and does not modify the player.json file, ensuring a safe and convenient installation process.
Version 3.2 Update
In the latest 3.2 update, we have added the Copper Miner's Helmet. You can craft this equipment at a crafting table by combining a standard copper helmet, a torch, and a sufficient amount of leather.
Off-Hand Equipment Mechanism
Regarding off-hand equipment, please pay close attention to the operation method: you cannot drag items directly into the off-hand slot via the inventory screen. The correct procedure is to hold the item and perform a "Use" action (right-click, ensuring you are not clicking on a nearby block). This will automatically place the item into the off-hand slot. If you are looking at a block when performing this action, it may fail, so please ensure you are in an open area.
Additionally, you can check an item's Lore to confirm if it supports off-hand equipping. If the description includes a corresponding note, the item can be used; otherwise, it is not supported.
Miner's Helmet System
This version introduces miner's helmets with light sources. When worn, these helmets provide a light level of 15. Their durability is identical to standard helmets, and they support enchanting and repair, compatible with all standard game materials. Special note: To avoid losing enchantment effects during crafting, it is recommended to use non-enchanted helmets as the base material.
The crafting process is simple: combine the target helmet material with a torch and leather at a crafting table.
Environment and Dynamic Lighting
In this version, the lighting system has been fully optimized. Now, when mobs are on fire, they emit light at night. Furthermore, all light-emitting items produce a light source even when dropped on the ground.
We have also added dynamic lighting to specific mobs, such as Blazes, Magma Cubes, and Glow Squids, which now naturally glow in dark environments.
Underwater Lighting Function
To further enhance the exploration experience, this update adds lighting functionality to "Sea Pickles," which provide a light level of 13 and function underwater. These can also be equipped in the off-hand, maintaining their level 13 light source during deep-sea exploration.
Feature Overview
As previously mentioned, this mod supports lighting for various vanilla Minecraft items. The mod automatically adds a line to the item's Lore to let you intuitively know the light level it provides, along with a custom mod brand identifier.
Installation Guide

- System Dynamic Light BP (Behavior Pack): Handles the core logic of the mod.
- System Dynamic Light RP (Resource Pack): Handles the visual textures of the mod.
