SulfurCubes+
SulfurCubes+ is a Fabric mod tailored for Minecraft 26.2. It expands upon the core mechanics of sulfur cubes by introducing features that, while absent from the official release, significantly enhance gameplay depth and utility.
Features
TNT Cubes
As of the 26.2 snapshot 5, Mojang has officially integrated TNT support for sulfur cubes into the game. Accordingly, from version 0.7.0 onwards, this mod utilizes the vanilla implementation while adding unique enhancements: the fuse triggers upon any direct hit, and the explosive impact scales with the cube's size. This makes the creation of a "Sulfur Nuke" a distinct possibility—though obtaining a cube of such magnitude will certainly challenge the player.
Light Cubes
Once a sulfur cube has absorbed a light-emitting block, it will project real light into the surrounding environment, mimicking the behavior found in the Bedrock edition. Supported blocks include: Glowstone, Sea Lantern, Crying Obsidian, Magma Block, Shroomlight, Jack o'Lantern, Ochre Froglight, Pearlescent Froglight, and Verdant Froglight.
Cactus Cubes
Sulfur cubes can now be fused with a cactus. These cubes inflict damage upon any entity that makes contact, functioning similarly to a standard placed cactus block. Furthermore, attackers will suffer damage when striking the cube, mirroring the effect of punching a real cactus. Additionally, any other sulfur cube that comes into contact with a cactus cube or a cactus block will be repelled.
Workstation Cubes
Sulfur cubes are now capable of absorbing crafting workstations. Right-click the cube to access its corresponding user interface, or simply press "Shift + Right-click" to retrieve it. Currently compatible blocks include: Crafting Table, Stonecutter, Grindstone, Smithing Table, Loom, Cartography Table, and Anvil.
Redstone Cubes
Sulfur cubes can now absorb a Redstone Block. In this state, the cube functions as an active redstone power source, providing a constant signal to adjacent redstone components in all six directions, just like a placed Redstone Block.
Ghast Cubes
Inspired by community concepts, this feature adds a unique lifecycle to sulfur cubes.
Sulfur cubes can now absorb a "Dried Ghast." To proceed, simply submerge the cube in water to hydrate it. Once fully hydrated, the Dried Ghast is revitalized: a baby "Happy Ghast" will spawn, and the cube enters "Ghast Soul Mode," encasing the creature in a translucent soul shell. The cube will expand in size as the ghast matures into adulthood.
Players can use "Shears" on the cube at any time to release the ghast, allowing you to obtain a tier 4 sized sulfur cube. It should be noted that a cube that has already completed a soul cycle cannot be re-hydrated.
Support for additional blocks is planned for future updates.
