Shield Bash

Author: Studio38 Category: Addons

Why limit your shield to mere defense when you could utilize it for mining, lumberjacking, and combat? The Shield Bash addon empowers you to use your off-hand shield to enhance your gameplay: mine blocks faster than a standard pickaxe, fell trees more efficiently than an axe, and dispatch mobs with ease while wielding a sword. While your shield will consume durability, it ensures your primary tools remain in pristine condition.

Key Features:

  • Full compatibility with other Add-Ons.
  • Off-hand mining capabilities with your shield.
  • Off-hand combat support via your shield.
  • Enhanced mining experience.
  • Mine multiple blocks simultaneously.

When standing adjacent to blocks with a shield in your off-hand and a non-wooden pickaxe in your main hand, simply sneak to break blocks within a 3x3 radius in any direction. The addon respects original game mechanics: you can only break blocks that your main-hand pickaxe would normally permit. For instance, your shield will not harvest Diamond Ore unless you are holding at least an Iron Pickaxe in your main hand.

Your shield will lose durability when used to break blocks. The amount of durability lost is relative to the hardness of the block you are currently mining.

When holding a sword in your main hand, you can use the shield to deal damage to mobs standing a few blocks away. The shield will absorb the wear and tear, allowing you to keep your swords fresh.

When holding an axe in your main hand, you can utilize the shield to chop down trees. The shield will bear the brunt of the task, keeping your axes in top shape.
