PSX-Core Shader
Author: Dooji Category: Shaders
Do you yearn for the nostalgic aesthetic of the original PlayStation? The PSX-Core Shader brings that iconic, low-poly visual style directly into your Minecraft world through features such as affine texture mapping, dithering, and vertex snapping.
This shader is designed to faithfully recreate the classic PS1 visual experience. Its key features include:
- Ordered Dithering: Simulates texture gradients in low color depths.
- 5-bit per-channel color quantization: Replicates those distinct, retro color expressions.
- Gouraud shading: Delivers the characteristic banded light levels.
- Vertex snapping: Creates the iconic low-poly jitter effect.
- Affine texture mapping: Reproduces the classic non-linear perspective deformation.
- Fog: Adds a deeply atmospheric, sometimes unsettling, sense of depth.
Most of these features are fully configurable via the shader settings. While the pack has been thoroughly tested with Iris on 1.21.11, it is also compatible with older versions (please report any bugs you encounter).
