Resource Description
Patrix: A realistic resource pack with vanilla colors, designed for shaders.
About this Resource Pack
The core design philosophy of this pack is to perfectly complement and adapt to Shader packs. Therefore, if you do not have shaders enabled, or if the shaders you are using do not support Normal Mapping, Specular Mapping, or LabPBR features, the textures may not display as intended.
Unlike packs that simply prioritize higher resolution or complex block geometry, the focus of this pack is to utilize Optifine’s texture format features to achieve large-scale texturing and randomization. In terms of color, the materials are highly consistent with default Minecraft textures, ensuring that your existing builds and maps remain visually harmonious when using this pack. Additionally, grass and foliage textures support biome tinting, making them perfectly compatible with data packs or mods that provide biome color variations.
Because this pack contains a vast amount of additional texture resources, it is significantly more demanding on system performance compared to other resource packs of the same resolution.
Notably, this resource pack integrates entity animations created by FreshLX (the author of the Fresh Animations pack), with model tweaks to ensure smoother and more natural movements. As of now, all block textures and most item textures up to version 1.21.1 have been completed, and we are currently in the process of continuously adding entity textures.
Resource Categorization Guide
To meet the various needs of different players, this resource pack is subdivided into the following sections:
- Models: Contains optional additional custom models.
- Bonus: Provides extra features that are not strictly vanilla-friendly.
- Addon: Provides optional features that are vanilla-friendly.
- Basic: Includes all required block textures and models; this is the foundation for installation.
Regarding load order, the Basic pack must be placed at the very bottom of the load list (directly above the default/mod resources). The remaining optional packs can be stacked on top of the Basic pack in any order you prefer.
It is recommended that you check the "features list" text file included in each optional zip file to obtain detailed descriptions of new features, usage instructions, or to learn how to remove unnecessary features from the Models pack.
Configuration Guide - Fabric / Iris Mod Users
If you are using the Fabric loader and the Iris mod, please ensure that the following necessary mods are installed:
- Fabric API
- Iris
- Sodium
- Indium (Not required for version 1.21.1 and higher)
- Continuity
- Colormatic (Not required for version 1.20.4 and higher)
- Entity Texture Features
- Entity Model Features
After completing the mod installation, load an Iris-compatible shader pack, and ensure you enable any Emissive or Sub-surface-scattering options related to the LabPBR format within the shader settings. Alternatively, you can use a modpack to simplify the installation process.
