Lithium

An uncompromising, general-purpose game logic optimization mod. Suitable for all types of clients and servers. Now supports both Fabric and NeoForge platforms!

Lithium is a modern, general-purpose optimization mod for Minecraft. It works to improve key systems such as game physics, mob AI, and block ticking, all with one core goal: to significantly improve performance without changing any vanilla game mechanics.

This mod runs perfectly on both clients and servers. Notably, if installed on a server, players do not need to have the mod installed on their client to join (and vice-versa), ensuring seamless compatibility.

Significant Performance Boost

For multiplayer servers, administrators will see a significant reduction in tick times, meaning the hardware can handle more entities, load more chunks, and support more players simultaneously.

Even in single-player, Lithium is incredibly effective. By optimizing the internal integrated server responsible for "calculating" the world, it frees up CPU resources for other tasks. This leads directly to higher frame rates and snappier game responsiveness.

Extreme Compatibility

This strict adherence to maintaining vanilla behavior makes Lithium compatible with almost any Fabric-based Minecraft server, even those with incredibly complex gameplay and redstone machinery. In fact, precisely because we hold to the principle of "not changing vanilla gameplay," the mod has even been officially approved for use in Minecraft speedrunning competitions.

Installation Guide

Ensure you have the latest version of Fabric Loader installed, then simply drop the mod file into your mods folder to complete the installation.

  • No other mods required (not even Fabric API!).
  • No additional setup necessary.
  • No need to create a new world to enjoy performance improvements; old saves work immediately upon installation.

While you're installing it, you might also want to check out the Sodium mod, which can further boost your rendering performance.

Configuration

Lithium features a unique and flexible configuration system that allows users to enable or completely disable specific patches provided by the mod. This mechanism gives you granular control over the modifications made to the Minecraft codebase. Therefore, if you encounter rare bugs or mod incompatibilities, you can use it to thoroughly troubleshoot and resolve them.

For more detailed information, please refer to the Wiki entry on modifying configuration files.

Please note: If your configuration file is empty, this is completely normal. It simply means you are using the default options, which have been carefully tuned to provide the best performance the mod can achieve right out of the box.
