Health Bar Indicator

Health Bar Indicator

Take full control of your combat awareness. This pack introduces a dynamic, real-time health visualization system to your Minecraft world, allowing you to instantly assess the vital status of mobs and players without any guesswork.

Overview

Have you ever wondered exactly how much health that Warden has left, or if your tamed wolf requires food? Health Bar Indicator projects a smooth, percentage-based health bar directly above the head of every entity. These bars update in real-time and automatically adjust their orientation to face your camera, ensuring readability from any angle. The system is also intelligently scaled for baby mobs, including the specialized big-head variants introduced in 1.21.80 (26.10). This is a pure resource pack that requires no behavior packs and no experimental settings—simply apply it and start playing.

Key Features

  • Live HP Tracking: Health bars update instantly as mobs take or receive damage.
  • Broad Entity Coverage: Compatible with over 85 vanilla mobs within Minecraft Bedrock.
  • Camera-Facing Optimization: Bars rotate to constantly face you for easy visibility.
  • Intelligent Baby Scaling: Specifically calibrated for the 26.10 infant mob rendering system, including unique baby geometries and entity-level scaling.
  • UI Awareness: Bars automatically vanish while in inventory menus or when viewing spawn egg previews, maintaining a clean interface.
  • Flexible Display Modes: Choose your preference via subpack toggles:
    • Player + Mobs: Displays health bars on both mobs and other players.
    • Mobs Only: Displays health bars only on mobs (default).

Updated (26.10) Technical Details

The 26.10 update fundamentally overhauled baby mob rendering with dedicated geometries, textures, and scaling logic, which rendered previous health bars obsolete. v1.6 provides full support for this updated system:

  • 40+ Updated Baby Variants: Includes cow, pig, sheep, chicken, wolf, cat, fox, ocelot, panda, polar bear, rabbit, turtle, llama, camel, horse, donkey, mule, dolphin, axolotl, bee, goat, hoglin, zoglin, mooshroom, sniffer, strider, squid, glow squid, villager, zombie, husk, drowned, piglin, zombified piglin, zombie villager, skeleton horse, zombie horse, and more.
  • Auto-Adjusted Positioning: Every baby mob receives a uniquely tuned animation loop, ensuring the health bar floats at the perfect height regardless of entity scale.
  • Render Controller Upgrade: Entities now utilize the modern v2/v3/v4 render controllers to manage complex baby geometry transitions.
  • Legacy Cleanup: Conflicting animation controllers (such as baby_transform, baby_scaling, and big_head) have been stripped to prevent model glitches and visual artifacts.

Installation Guide

  1. Download the .mcpack or .zip file.
  2. Option A: Double-tap or click the .mcpack file to trigger an automatic import into Minecraft.
  3. Option B: Move the .zip file into your games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ directory and ensure it is structured as a folder.
  4. Activate the resource pack in your world settings.
  5. Select your desired display mode (Player + Mobs or Mobs Only) in the subpack settings.

Compatibility Note

If another resource pack modifies the same .entity.json files, it may cause visual conflicts or prevent the health bars from appearing. To ensure this pack functions correctly, please place it above any conflicting packs in your active resource pack list to prioritize its rendering.
