Mojang Studios recently revealed a community event called the "Minecraft Movie Building Challenge." The initiative aims to build momentum for the highly anticipated film sequel. During the TwitchCon event in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the development team officially announced this challenge, where players will have the chance to win exciting prizes and numerous special perks.
If you're eager to join this creative extravaganza, here's all the key information you need to know.
How to Participate in the Minecraft Movie Building Challenge

The first step to participating in this building challenge is to head over to the Minecraft Marketplace for Bedrock Edition and download the official "Building Challenge Map." After acquiring the map, carefully study the instructions and complete your architectural creation within the designated 16x16x32 block space.
During participation, you can utilize a series of specific blocks and mobs pre-set by the system for decoration. Entries must construct a structure or residence that fits the atmosphere of one of the following four biomes:
- Plains
- Taiga
- Badlands
- Frozen Ocean
Once your creation is complete, be sure to upload it through the officially designated submission channel. The submission window runs from 12:00 AM (PT) on May 30, 2026, to 11:59 PM (PT) on June 8, 2026. The competition will undergo two rounds of internal judging, followed by a final voting phase from July 2 to July 5, 2026, where the community players will select the ultimate winner.
When submitting, you need to provide a 15 to 30-second showcase video of your build (featuring a 360-degree orbital view) and one front-facing screenshot. For detailed operational guidelines, it is recommended to refer to the official blog post.
