The Backrooms addon introduces a completely new dimension to Minecraft Bedrock.
Overview
THE BACKROOMS ADDON 1.2.1 – The Transition Update
WARNING: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. For the best experience, we recommend creating a new world. The Backrooms are evolving, and not everything behaves as it should.
The Transition Update (1.2)
Walls and Space Distortions The barrier between Level 0 and Level 1 is crumbling. You may now step into unstable transitional zones—distorted spaces that resemble biomes but possess a disorienting, wrong feeling.
- Layouts begin to shift unpredictably.
- The environment changes subtly over time.
- An increasingly heavy, oppressive silence.
- The instinctual feeling of being watched before danger appears. These zones are neither safe nor stable; they serve as a warning of what lies ahead.
A New Infinite Dimension
Welcome to The Backrooms. An eternal nightmare generated through code:
- Infinite horizontal generation.
- Limited vertical space.
- Confusing, repetitive layouts. Every corridor looks identical, and every turn feels inherently wrong. Getting lost is your inevitable fate.
Level 0 – The Beginning
The classic experience remains, yet it is evolving.
- Classic yellow patterned walls.
- Damp carpet floors.
- Buzzing fluorescent lights. With the addition of transition zones, reality itself begins to warp. You may think you have understood the patterns, until the environment begins to reshape itself.
Level 1 – The Parking Zone
If you managed to escape Level 0, that was your first mistake. An expansive, open parking structure awaits you:
- Endless concrete spaces.
- Low, dim visibility.
- Distant, echoing sounds. Remember, there is nowhere to hide. This level is no longer about getting lost; it is about staying alive.
Entities
You are never truly alone.
- Smiler: Extremely aggressive, thriving in darkness; drops rare and valuable loot when defeated.
- Duller: Slower but unpredictable in behavior; roams between zones and drops useful crafting materials. They adapt their hunting strategies based on your location and can appear when you least expect them.
- Hound
Presence Scanner
Your only line of defense. Craft the Enemy Detector to increase your survival rate:
- Detects nearby entities.
- Provides feedback based on distance.
- Essential for survival in Level 1. Sometimes, when it lights up, danger is closer than you think.
Loot System
Resources scattered across the Backrooms:
- Hidden rooms.
- Basic supplies.
- Survival essentials. Distribution has been optimized across levels, with strategic placement in dangerous areas.
Portal System
How to Enter: Build a portal using Crying Obsidian in the same shape as a Nether portal, and activate it with Flint & Steel. Behavior: The portal blocks visually transform, but they can still be broken with a diamond pickaxe. Once you enter, there is no guarantee you will return.
Compatibility
- Supports Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
- Survival-friendly.
Installation
- Download the addon.
- Import into Minecraft.
- Activate the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack in your world settings.
- Create a new world and begin your exploration.
Future Updates
This is only the beginning. Future plans include:
- More levels of the Backrooms.
- Expanded biome transition effects.
- New entities and smarter AI.
- Deeper loot and survival mechanics.
Explore… Survive… Escape?
Lights flicker, walls shift, and the space between levels grows unstable. Something is watching you from the dark.
