Thaum Journey

This modpack is an exploration-focused magic adventure, now updated to its official release. On April 3rd, 2026, version 1.4 was launched, featuring a significant expansion of the main questline and core content.

Prologue

Thaumaturgy—the name given to the schools of magic that flourished when the world was still permeated with spiritual energy. Our ancestors pioneered miraculous arts during that era. However, as that energy dissipated from the world, those glorious techniques faded, leaving behind only scattered fragments. Today, six major magic schools still linger across the land. Your adventure begins unexpectedly with the discovery of an ancient grimoire detailing the secrets of that bygone era.

Introduction

This modpack is a magic-themed adventure experience. Players will develop the six magic schools to reconstruct the creations of the lost Thaumaturgical Age, while simultaneously exploring wilderness structures to acquire a vast array of baubles that bolster personal power.

For players who are new to high-version mods, we have prepared a comprehensive quest guide and flow overview, allowing you to easily get started and experience the magic system step-by-step. For veterans of modded Minecraft, this pack includes extensive custom modifications, offering a fresh, challenging, and explorative journey.

Key Features

  • Thaumaturgy Reborn: We have incorporated select items from Thaumcraft, granting them completely new crafting recipes and utilities, establishing them as pivotal elements of the main storyline.
  • In-Depth Quest System: Featuring over 2500 FTB quests, it meticulously explains the mechanics of the primary mods and the specific custom changes, guiding players through a logical progression.
  • Bauble System: Boasting 650+ baubles. The three starting "cursed" baubles are not mandatory. Furthermore, a bauble salvage system has been added, allowing for the independent crafting of rare accessories that are typically inaccessible in the wild.
  • Exploration & Loot Balancing: With multiple structural mods included, the wilderness is rich with sites to discover. Additionally, we have adjusted select loot tables to ensure balanced progression.
  • Magical Synergy: Promoting "The Great Harmony of Magic," power resources between the six magic mods can be mutually converted, significantly speeding up the transition when branching into new schools.
  • Logical Custom Crafting: New custom recipes have been added, adhering strictly to the conceptual logic of the items themselves rather than mindless association, ensuring coherence throughout the gameplay.
  • Achievement System: Players can exchange completed collection-based achievements for rare items that are otherwise difficult to obtain—an ideal mechanic for completionists and casual players alike.

Future Plans

The modpack currently contains a fully realized main questline and a wealth of custom content. With the official version released, we plan to integrate content from Thaumcraft 7 immediately once it becomes available, ensuring the pack stays aligned with the latest magical developments.
