Sword and Kingdom: A Deeply Refactored Modpack for MineColonies and Hundred Years' War

An Integrated City-Building and Command Experience Blending MineColonies and Hundred Years' War

This modpack is far from a mere collection of mods; rather, it represents a deep logical restructuring and synthesis of MineColonies and Hundred Years' War. By organically combining simulation construction with tactical command, we offer a unique "construction + command" strategy experience.

MineColonies: Optimized Construction, Restoring the Essence

In this module, our core objective is not to replace the resource acquisition and manufacturing processes of MineColonies with other mods, but to systematically rectify and complement the original mechanical pain points, aimed at restoring the core joy of deep city-building. By significantly reducing tedious and pointless repetitive operations, citizen efficiency has been markedly improved, while we have retained the classic element of citizens' needs increasing alongside urban development.

Thanks to the collaborative optimizations from authors of SimpleColonies, MineColonies Pathfinding Overhaul, Serene Seasons, and Hundred Years' War mods, the AI calculation capability and behavioral logic of citizens have undergone a revolutionary upgrade. Furthermore, the complexity of the resource system has been drastically lowered, and the recipe learning process for colonies is now highly automated. Regarding diet, we have introduced Cooking Pot, Citizen's Cooking Pot, and the Serene Seasons system, replacing the cumbersome original dietary restrictions. Simultaneously, the impact of climate and seasonal changes remains fully preserved; players must still plan planting based on the seasonal characteristics of different biomes, while the complex food-related setting logic has been simplified. Finally, although research speed has been increased tenfold, the acquisition of advanced research materials relies on leading soldiers to challenge bosses, thereby achieving a deep coupling of construction and adventure experiences.

Hundred Years' War: Command and Expedition, Strategic Defense

This modpack fundamentally reshapes the gameplay of Hundred Years' War. By perfecting the recruitment mechanisms and city-building system, we have transformed the original RTS elements into a core experience centered on troop-led adventuring.

To enhance combat control, we have introduced the "R-key Expeditionary Force" feature: simply hold the 'R' key to execute instant commands. Whether instantly summoning soldiers from the colony to your side, recalling them with one key, or issuing tactical instructions quickly, everything can be accomplished efficiently. Concurrently, the original separation of infantry and cavalry has been abandoned in favor of a universal mount system; you can freely command your soldiers to mount simultaneously, achieving unified troop mobility. Furthermore, the defensive dimension of the colony has been strengthened; you can construct defensive towers and deploy various siege equipment, which will effectively resist intruders and enhance base security.

Boss Challenges: Epic Raids, Fair Encounters

We place extreme importance on the gameplay of boss fights and have introduced a shared progression mechanism: when a boss is defeated, all nearby players gain task progress and loot drops, often including essential research materials or colony enhancement items.

In terms of combat scale, the vast majority of boss challenges are designed as large-scale legion encounters, offering grand and immersive battle scenes. Moreover, to ensure a fair and fluid combat experience, we have delicately optimized boss mechanics, significantly weakening or even removing unreasonable resistance mechanisms such as lifesteal, high-frequency healing, damage immunity, ranged immunity, and group crowd control. These changes completely eliminate the dilemma where "one person deals damage, and the whole army watches," ensuring that every participant can receive tangible feedback and enjoyment from the battle.
