Spring Shaders
Overview
Spring Shaders is a shader pack focused on freshness and clarity, themed entirely around the essence of spring.
Introduction
The "Spring" theme establishes a tone characterized by freshness and nature, utilizing soft, bright hues to craft a tranquil and harmonious atmosphere. As the harsh chill of winter melts away and all living things begin to recover, one might ask: who is it that plucks the strings of the season to play the movement of life? This brand-new shader iteration, Spring v2, invites you into a dreamlike utopia, offering an immersive visual experience.
Detailed Shader Information
This shader pack originated as a practice project developed while studying the Games202 - High Quality Real-Time Rendering course. It serves as a sequel to the "Spring" series and can be viewed as a refactored and completed evolution of Spring v1. It is worth noting that "Spring" is a codename the creator has utilized since making texture packs a decade ago, a designation that continues to be used today.
Below are the technical effects included within this shader pack:
Lighting System
This system features Path Traced Global Illumination (PTGI) and Ray-Traced Colored Lighting (requires Iris, disabled by default). It incorporates Reflective Shadow Maps (RSM) enhanced with denoising and screen-space light leak suppression. Furthermore, it supports PCSS Soft Shadows, Colored (Glass) Shadows, and Screen Space Shadows that accommodate both near and far distances. Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion (GTAO) is also included, along with Handheld Dynamic Lighting that synchronizes seamlessly with Ray Tracing and Colored Lighting settings.
Atmosphere System
The pack features Physically Based Atmospheric Scattering and Atmospheric Fog. It delivers stunning volumetric effects, including Volumetric Fog, Volumetric Clouds, and Screen Space Godrays. The experience is further heightened by unique sunrise and sunset hues, alongside realistic celestial bodies (Sun, Moon, and Stars).
Water and Translucency
The water rendering includes two wave patterns and Wave Parallax, providing realistic surface movement. It features Water Fog, Underwater Volumetrics, and immersive underwater effects. Water Refraction simulation, Screen Space Reflections (SSR), Water Caustics, and Dispersion effects work together to make water look incredibly lifelike. Additionally, it supports Translucent Object Shadows, PBR Reflections, and Translucent Refraction simulation.
Material Rendering
This shader provides robust support for Normal Mapping, Smooth Parallax, and Voxel Parallax. It utilizes Physically Based Rendering (PBR) for reflections, specular highlights, and sophisticated material interactions. Environment realism is deepened through rain puddles, ripples, and surface wetness effects.
Post-Processing
High-quality effects are integrated, ranging from Bloom, Auto Exposure, and Simple Filters to Tone Mapping, Motion Blur, Depth of Field (DoF), Vignette, and Lens Occlusion. To ensure visual clarity, it includes Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA), Robust Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (RCAS), and Anisotropic Filtering.
Other Features
This pack includes exclusive effects tailored for Night, Rain, The End, and The Nether environments. Vegetation features natural waving animations. The settings interface is fully available in English, and it offers excellent mod support, including compatibility with Distant Horizons, Voxy (basic/partial support), Kaleidoscope Cookery, Farmer's Delight, and Biomes O' Plenty.
