Moves Like Mafuyu

This is a lightweight action-oriented mod designed to optimize the movement experience during exploration and construction.

Sliding

  • Press the sneak key while sprinting to initiate a slide. The player gains a speed boost and enters a low profile, allowing them to pass through one-block-high gaps effortlessly.
  • After the slide concludes, the player automatically resumes sprinting. Sliding can be canceled by jumping or moving backward, although backward movement does not preserve momentum.
  • Airtime during a slide refreshes its duration, enabling sustained sliding across uneven or sloped terrain.
  • Sliding into water triggers a "water skipping" effect, where the player bounces forward. This action has a default limit of two skips.
  • Extra: Colliding with an entity while sliding will knock the entity back while reducing the player's sliding momentum.

Climbing

  • When facing a two-block-high obstacle, jumping allows the player to climb it, mirroring vanilla climbing mechanics by treating the space above the obstacle as if it had invisible ladders.
  • Climbing will not trigger if the block above is not a solid-render block (e.g., slabs, leaves, ice), if the player is not facing the obstacle, or if the obstacle is only one block high.
  • While on a climbable surface, pressing jump while holding sneak performs a standard jump, which is useful for clearing three-block-high obstacles with non-solid tops.
  • If a player slips off a ledge, facing the original block while holding sneak stops the fall, as the climbing check is more lenient during a descent.

Swimming

  • Press the sprint key while touching water to enter swimming mode, even in one-block-deep water.
  • Swimming toward the surface allows for "freestyle swimming," where the player can breathe and maintain speed simultaneously. While this exists in vanilla, this mod significantly simplifies the trigger.
  • While swimming, pressing sprint provides a short burst of speed, known as "swimming boost," which consumes oxygen.
  • During freestyle swimming, pressing jump launches the player out of the water in the direction of their view, immediately transitioning into a slide and water skip, known as "water glide."

Crawling

  • Double-tap the sneak key to enter crawling, which functions like the vanilla narrow-space mechanic. Press sneak once more to cancel.
  • By default, players can jump while crawling, though this can be toggled to "cancel-on-jump" via configuration.
  • Triggering a crawl shortly after a sprint jump initiates a "leap," providing a speed boost. Landing does not cancel the crawl, and this maneuver can clear 1.5-block-high obstacles.
  • Pressing sneak during a crawl triggers a slide without ending the crawling state.

Rolling

  • Hold a movement key and double-tap the sprint key to roll. If already sprinting, a single sprint tap usually triggers it (configurable to double-tap). Rolling can also be performed in mid-air.
  • Ground rolls grant directional velocity and can navigate 1.5-block-high spaces. Air rolls, while providing no immediate boost, grant speed upon landing.
  • Triggering a roll shortly after a sprint jump initiates an "air flip," capable of clearing 1.5-block-high obstacles.
  • Rolling provides default invulnerability frames, perfect for dodging attacks or mitigating fall damage.

Commands

  • Use /moveslikecommand attribute to define custom movement attributes for players, which override configuration files.
  • Example: /moveslikecommand attribute @p slideStartBoost set 1.2 increases the initial slide speed for a specific player, while clear resets it.
  • Overridable attributes include all numeric values for sliding, climbing, swimming boosts, leaping, crawling, rolling, and air flips.
  • Developers can also modify player capabilities via KubeJS (or data attachments for 1.21+).

Other

  • Sneak, jump, sprint—the three core inputs are all you need. No additional keybinds are required for these features.
  • Recommended for use with the "Smart Key Prompts" mod to receive real-time feedback on available actions.
  • Most features are highly customizable via config files, where server settings take precedence. You can adjust triggers, camera rotation during rolls, aerial roll permissions, and invulnerability frame duration.
  • Compatibility with TaCZ is handled natively; the mod automatically disables TaCZ crawling while allowing shooting during slides to avoid logical conflicts.
  • Complex movement "tech" is possible through sequenced inputs—such as a sprint-slide into a jump, followed by an air flip and a leap. Such chains can cover up to eight blocks. Future updates aim to increase the skill ceiling without hindering casual play.
  • The Chinese name of this mod is derived from a joke found in the Bilibili comment section.
