However, I felt relieved to hear that you are not in any serious danger, as per the update from your parents.

The purpose of this letter is not merely to check in—I anticipate you might wonder why I didn't just call—but I have included something "special" for you in the parcel.

As you may have noticed, there are some novels enclosed in the package. These are not ordinary books, but rather playable, interactive narratives. I know all too well how tedious hospital stays can be, and as your most thoughtful friend, I could not let you be bored.
