beta 26.40.26 (ChromeOS/Android) and Preview 26.40.26 (Windows/Xbox/PlayStation) are the third beta versions of Bedrock Edition 26.40, released on June 17, 2026[1], which include several bug fixes.

Blocks
Bed
- Updated the item texture to match the appearance of its block form.
Sulfur Spikes
- Reduced the maximum growth length of stalactites from 8 blocks to 3 blocks.
Mobs
Ender Dragon
- Now deflects arrows that hit it while perched; previously, arrows would pass straight through the Ender Dragon.
Player
- Arrows and tridents now deflect when hitting a player in Creative mode; previously, they would pass straight through the player.
Sulfur Cube
- Can no longer absorb Observers or Redstone Lamps.
- Arrows hitting a Sulfur Cube containing a block will now deflect.
Non-Living Entities
Boats and Rafts
- Now lose 10 points of structural integrity for every 1 (
) point of damage taken, instead of 1.
- This makes the number of hits required to destroy them match the Java Edition.
- Now naturally regenerate structural integrity to match the Java Edition.
General
Logo
- Updated the Beta version logo to maintain style consistency with the Preview version.
World
- Added cloud sync support for world data on Windows platforms to ensure world data is backed up and accessible across devices.

Accessibility
- Improved screen reader narration for the Furnace screen regarding navigation tabs, options, and smelting status of furnace slots.
- Items hovered over in the recipe book will no longer display beneath the search bar. (MCPE-237394)
Blocks
- Reduced the frequency of smoke particles generated by TNT to match the Java Edition. (MCPE-239135)
- Fences in pre-generated structures (Villages, Woodland Mansions, Ancient Cities, etc.) now connect correctly to adjacent blocks.
Gameplay
- Fixed an issue on PlayStation where players could not join split-screen games when the primary player was logged in with a local account. (MCPE-237456)
- Fixed an issue where players could not join a friend's world via the "A" button after closing the "Online Play is Unrated" warning screen.
Graphics
- Fixed an issue where thrown projectiles would render as solid colors when texture streaming was enabled. (MCPE-239128)
- Fixed an issue where distant blocks might show a green outline when using Deferred Technical Preview on some Android devices. (MCPE-236296)
- Fixed an issue where visually transparent blocks like water and ice would render in front of clouds when Deferred Technical Preview was disabled.
- Fixed an issue where the interior of blocks would not render when taking screenshots from inside a block.
Items
- Fixed an issue where Bundles would not reliably play the pickup bobbing animation in the hotbar when picked up.
- Updated the Bed item sprite to match the appearance of its corresponding block. (MCPE-49850)
- Reduced the number of hits required to destroy boats to match the Java Edition. (MCPE-62683)
Mobs
- The Ender Dragon now deflects projectiles while perched. (MCPE-44493)
- Blocked projectiles no longer deflect prematurely from the target.
Character Creator
- Fixed an issue where changes made in the Character Creator could revert to previous appearances after restarting the game.
Realms
- Fixed an error that occurred when opening the Realms hub without administrator permissions.
- Fixed an issue where the active Behavior Packs or Resource Packs tabs in Edit World were not selected by default when at least one pack was active.
- Removed the possibility of triggering the older Realms joining flow via invite links when the game is closed.
- Fixed an issue where a restart modal would display for locale settings even when no changes were made.
- Made various adjustments to the UI under Realms Hub -> World -> Slots to improve visual clarity and consistency.
Audio
- Fixed an issue where critical hit sounds and some jump/landing sounds were not affected by the "Player" volume slider.
- Music will now play in Lush Caves, Meadows, Jagged Peaks, Snowy Slopes, Frozen Peaks, and Swamps.
User Interface
- Fixed a bug where selected Resource Packs and Behavior Packs would be removed from the active list after viewing technical details of packs when creating a new world.
- Fixed an issue with controller settings tab behavior when using a gamepad with the "Swap Buttons" option enabled. (MCPE-238160)
- Fixed an issue where the side panel on the Report Player screen would narrate itself as a story post instead of describing the reported player.
- Fixed an issue where non-operator players connected to a dedicated server could see the world seed in the game settings menu. The seed and copy seed buttons on multiplayer servers are now hidden for non-operator clients.
- The Hardcore mode toggle in the settings menu now correctly displays the Hardcore mode icon. (MCPE-239433)
- Renamed the header on the Marketplace Pass product page to "Learn about Marketplace Pass," added "All Packs" and "View Character Creator Items" buttons above the pack grid, and moved the descriptive content type section to the bottom of the tab.
- Beta/Preview only: Fixed an issue where the cloud upload progress modal would get stuck when uploading a shared world. This button is now never presented to the player, as such worlds do not participate in cloud storage. (MCPE-239096)
